Creative Photo Displays

A few blogs ago, we posted some creative photo displays. Now, one of our talented crafters has put her own spin on a decorative photo board. The boards feature funky Asian-inspired fabric in bright colors and fastened with modern hardware-all adorned with ribbon and embody with a sturdy frame. I just love these... probably because Asian-inspired ANYTHING grabs my attention. BTW... these boards measure approximately 11" wide x 23" tall and are priced at $30.

Valentine Bling

Our handmade watch bands are one of our hottest items. And our crafters just brought in some pink, white and red ones that are perfect for Valentine's. Some of them have heart details in glass, plastic or metal. You can mix and match the faces to make it just the way you like it.

New Hand-Made Valentine Items

We've got lots of cute decorations for Valentine's Day... but just got in some adorable, one-of-a-kind handmade items.

Our decorative door hangs measure 11"x24" (not including the wire hanger) and come in a variety of colors. The one shown is in chocolate brown and soft pink... and all of them feature a pinecone and berry topper. $24.95

Our Valentine's vinyl boards are fun. This one features lots of love-inspired sayings, a polka-dot background and a ribbon tie. $19.95

And our black glittered hearts with delicate pink ribbon are both hip and humble. Priced at $6, $7 and $8.

Cheap Decorating Ideas for Wintertime

Decorating during winter can be tough... most of us pack away all of our Christmas decorations to find we have nothing left. Here are a few ideas from homebodies for decorating this time of year. These items are nice because they can go up before Christmas and can stay out until you're ready to move into spring. Our dried berry and pinecone trees are just $7.50... they make ideal accents for shelves, tables and countertops. Our "Let it Snow" shovels are $2.50! Combine them with our wreaths (all of our wreaths are marked down, prices range from $14 to $20) for even more fun. We also have a collection of resin bears priced from $14. If you're looking for a house-warming gift, we have pinecone and pinetree candles (priced from $5) that you can combine with matches that come in a coordinating decorative box ($2). Creative Cardinal

Who would have thought the Cardinals would make the playoffs this year??! My brother, Matt, and his wife, Katie, are HUGE Arizona Cardinals fans... they even have season tickets. When the Cards made it into the Super Bowl last year, Katie created this seven-layer bean dip. It was a huge hit and it is sooo creative!

Katie covered strips of cardboard with aluminum and created the shape of the cardinal's profile herself! You can do the same for your favorite team. Just put your shape on a flat pan and make your dip! Katie did have to improvise... using slices of yellow pepper for the beak... it was the hit of our football party.

New Calendars for the new year

it's a new year and it's time for a new calendar. homebodies currently has a good selection of calendars that are not only stylish, they can be used year after year! Here's a look at some calendars we currently have in stock... we also have day/month magnets to go with our perpetual calendars by Lone Elm Studio (that's the calendar shown hanging from a shelf - comes in cream or black).

Valentine's Day has arrived!

ALL Pillows 20% off!!!

All of our pillows are 20% off. Our black and white collection features 3 different styles...geometric, the "peacock pillow" and the paisley pillow. Priced at $12 - $14.... they drop down even lower with the 20% discount. These pillows look good alone, but even better when grouped together.

Our Chandler 4 Corners are high-quality, hand-hooked, 100% New Zealand wool pillows. They've been featured in Sundance catalog (for a lot more $!) and are the perfect decorative accent when it comes to adding warmth and color into your home. They come in both 14" and 18" square. After the 20% discount, the pillows are priced at just over $38 and $54.... You won't find them for a better price! Some of our Chandler 4 Corners favorites include the Ski Utah pillow and the big brown moose on a striking red background.

Wintertime Bargains

We have lots of wintertime bargains that include nice items to dress up your own house or to give away as a thoughtful gift. Ideas include our Seasons' Greetings door mat (only 2 left). Priced at $11 (regularly $23), they are worth storing until next year. We also have a nice selection of unique candles, which can be "matched" with out beautiful boxes of matches ($2 each) to create a unique gift or housewarming present. Our marked-down match boxes includes a pine and poinsettia design (artwork shown). We also have a good selection of marked-down wintertime florals including wreaths, candle rings and pinecone and berry trees.

Creative Photo Displays

Here are a few creative ways to display photos... and easy! I've come across both these items a few times while scouring the DI for "trash to treasures." My favorite of the two is the metal matress springs.... the colorful clothes pins really make it pop! You could also spray paint the springs a bright color and make the clothes pins white... I have the perfect wall space in my own home for this project...

The old shutters are also easy to transform into a photo collage... what's best is there's no need to spruce them up - they're used condition only gives them more charm.

Easy to Make Snowman Treats

These Smiling Snow Faces are too cute and waaay easy to make. It's the perfect activity for your children while the snow is falling outside.

here's what you'll need:

- mini white powdered donuts

- candy corn for the noses

- frosting or mini chocolate chips for the eyes and smily face ... the chocolate chips don't stick to the powdered donuts so use frosting to attach them securely.
