Simply Charmed

Homebodies just received some very charming charm bracelets from AJ Jewelry. These bracelets are chock full of charms... vintage and new. Each bracelet is unique and so much fun! Berkeley and I had a lot of fun this weekend making her birthday cake together. It was for her party (which was at Tooele Gymnastics Academy and was a total blast!)... she not only loved the ladybug design, but she was also proud she had an active role in making the cake. Her friends were impressed and it made her party even more special.

To make the cake, we baked two round cakes. We covered the bottom round in chocolate frosting. The top round we cut in half, postitioned the halfs as wings and frosted them with red frosting. Berkeley then put on the bug's black dots and we crafted eyes out of marshmallows with a dab of black frosting.

A Coat of Paint

You hear it all the time -- what a difference a fresh coat of paint does for something. And it's true... that's all we did to this dresser - literally dressed it with a new coat of black paint and it looks 100x better! FYI... for some reason, the paint did not want to adhere to this dresser and it took quite a few coats of primer, applied lightly over and over again with a spray can. Then, it took three coats of brushing the color on... but in the end it was worth it!
