Celebrity Homes

******A favorite blog of mine is realestalker.blogspot.com because it combines real estate, interior design and architecture with celebrity--not to mention the writing is creative and funny! As I was catching up on posts, I came across lots of good stuff... but wanted to share just a few. The first photo is the master bedroom of designer Adam Lippes, who is selling his NYC penthouse for $5.75.... What Would Oprah Say? above the bed... that is genius! (Reminds me of the What would God Do? OR, better yet for all SouthPark fans... what would Brian Boitano do?)
The other thing that caught my attention was Kim Kardashian's L.A. condo, which is listed for nearly $1.1 million... LOVE the bedrooms... But what cracked me up was the self portrait in the bathroom AND above the toilet (top right photo). I won't be stealing that design idea anytime soon.

New Arrivals!

We just got another shipment from one of our favorite Utah companies... The Crowning Touch. This husband-and-wife duo make some great items! Here are a few picks of what just arrived at homebodies Thursday... there's calendars, picture holders, magnet boards and more! Come see it all for yourself sometime soon.

Nail Covers

These are one of our most popular items.... cast metal nail covers. We just got a new shipment so we have every design in stock! These items are great for dressing up your walls... and they hide unsightly nails and screws.

New Fall Potpourri - JUST ARRIVED

We just got in a new fall potpourri - hollow harvest.... it is DEE-lightful! We had a customer who described the scent as "carmel-y" and I think she hit it on the nose. Along with the potpourri, we have refresher sprays in the same great scent. This colorful potpourri looks great in any room.... just find a bowl or something else creative to display it in.

More Purse Holders are IN!

Our tabletop purse holders have been one of our hottest sellers. We just received some new styles! These make a great gift for yourself or your friends and family. This pretty little thang keeps your purse off the grimy ground and within your sight.

Utah Artist featured at Homebodies

We recently added a small selection of framed artwork... some really nice, versatile pieces. We plan on consistently carrying affordable artwork (we know how difficult decorating walls can be!).
Two of the framed pieces we have in stock and on display are by Utah artist Kate Birch. Her abstract floral paintings are inspired by Katie's love for textile design and the decorative influence of William Morris and the Arts and Crafts movement. Stop by and see Kate's intricate details for yourself.

A new Crafter at homebodies!

We have just welcomed another talented gal.... Lisa from Stansbury Park.
She is the mastermind (or masterhands, we should say) behind Madi Moo's, hip baby necessities like bibs, burp cloths and blankets. Oh, and she also creates clothes pin magnets.
We've attached some photos so you can get a sneak peak (of course we have lots more at the store). What we like best about Lisa's creations are the fabric selections, which have a vintage yet modern appeal. Among our favorites are the cowboy/cowgirl and the soft cordurouy accompanied with coordinating plaid.

Whimsical Wedding Cake

Some friends of our recently tied the knot... it was a beautiful outdoor ceremony.
I wanted to share this photo of their wedding cake... very unique! I love the combination of purple and orange and all the details--the flowers outlined in gold, the white polka-dots outlined with gold beads and the hydrangea topper. I also like the white "canvas" at the top... it prevents the cake's design from becoming too gaudy.
Take a look at the creative knobs and furniture designed by Susan Goldstick (susangoldstick.com)... you'll also see some resemblances.
